The Air Jordan 17 Low returns in Fall 2026 with a brand new “Black Patent” colorway. Following the highly sought-after “Lightning” and “UNC” releases in 2024, along with the Infinite Archives collaboration in 2025, Jordan Brand is keeping the model’s comeback momentum alive with another polished low-top release.
Glossy black patent leather covers most of the upper, giving the shoe a dressier finish tied to the original Air Jordan 17 Low “Black Chrome” from 2002. Other details include a perforated leather ankle collar and quarter panel, which add texture above the reflective patent overlays. Chrome-plated eyestays bring contrast to the all-black base, while black laces and a padded textile collar keep the design grounded.
Smoky translucent midfoot and heel sections create more depth along the side profile, with subtle Jumpman branding appearing near the heel. The outsole features a dark grey finish with black traction pods, giving the bottom a stealthy look that matches the upper. Additional Jordan branding appears on the tongue tab, insole, heel, and outsole.
Jordan Brand also appears to be leaning deeper into the Air Jordan 17 story beyond this release. A more premium version is expected to be part of the upcoming Holiday 2026 “Black Pack”, while the “College Blue” Air Jordan 17 is currently set to return in 2027. Together, these launches show the model is becoming a bigger piece of Jordan Brand’s retro plans.

This pair quickly became part of my everyday rotation. The fit is true to size with enough room in the toe box. In everyday use, the breathable upper helps keep the inside comfortable on warmer days, while the outsole has provided dependable grip on normal city surfaces. I would happily choose this pair again.

I wanted a dependable everyday sneaker, and this pair delivered. They started slightly snug but settled in nicely after a short break-in period. In everyday use, the underfoot support is comfortable for long periods of standing, while the stitching is tidy and the panels line up cleanly. Overall, this was a purchase I feel good about.

The shoes feel well considered from the laces to the outsole. The heel stays in place and I have not noticed any unwanted slipping. In everyday use, the interior is smooth and has not caused any rubbing, while the finish is neat and there were no loose threads on arrival. For my needs, they strike the right balance.
